Our Story

It started small, the way most good things do. Denise picked up her first bottle of essential oil out of plain curiosity, no grand plan, no business in mind, just a question she couldn’t quite let go of: what is actually in this, and what does it do?

One bottle led to another. She started learning the personality of each oil, lavender’s quiet calm, citrus’s bright lift, peppermint’s wide-awake snap, and testing them in her own daily life to see what actually held up. Some she loved right away. Some took a while to understand. What she found, again and again, was how much these small bottles had to offer once you knew how to use them.

And that was the catch, using them well took a little know-how. A drop or two was plenty; more wasn’t better, it was just wasted. Straight from the bottle, oils were too concentrated for skin, so she learned the real secret hiding in plain sight: essential oils need a partner. A carrier oil to carry them gently onto skin. A bar of soap to work them into a daily ritual instead of a special occasion. The oil was never the whole story, it was what you paired it with that made it something you’d actually reach for every day.

The more Denise learned, the harder it became to keep it to herself. This felt like information worth sharing, not locked away in a cabinet of tinctures only she understood. She started to imagine other people getting the same lift she felt, without needing to spend months figuring out ratios and blends and what works with what. If a little oil and the right carrier could change her daily routine, it could change someone else’s too.

That’s when curiosity turned into commitment. Denise got serious, and the kitchen counter experiments turned into something more deliberate. She started building out real blends, pairing oils with intention, and giving each one a name that matched exactly how it made her feel: something to reach for in the morning when you need a spark, something to reach for at night when you’re winding down, something for the days you just want to feel balanced and clear. Every name was a shortcut to a feeling, so nobody else would have to guess.

Why Small-Batch, Even When It’s Slower

Small-batch production takes more time than mass production ever will, and that’s exactly the point behind the RL Organics story. Each batch is mixed, poured, and cured by hand in small quantities, which means recipes can be adjusted, ingredients can be swapped for better ones as Denise finds them, and nothing ships before it’s ready. It’s a slower way to run a skincare line, but it’s the only way that felt honest to how this all started: one curious person, taking the time to actually understand what goes into every product.
